LInk to chain link 1
Let's continue this.
I was talking about the importance of recruiters, 'til now we saw Reborn Tengu and Mystic Tomato as recruiters, tomato to summon goblin zombie (i'm about to talk about him) or sangan to search other monsters like beast of tha pharaoh (i'm going to talk about this too), pretty the same of summoning goblin.
Goblin zombie have is effect working when he's sent to the grave from the field, this means that it works even when synchro summoning (just like tengu) and allows to add Beast of the Pharaoh. Beast of the pharaoh is something like tengu i call "Synchro Summon Whore", because it can summon himslef from the grave if you use him as synchro material.
Let's assume we have 3 avenger into the grave (or somewhat to send them in there like infernity inferno, but i talked about this widely in the chain link 1 post) and a setted Goblin Zombie, our opponent attacks it with his own monster, and kill him. We'd get then to summon 3 lv4 avengers and add a Beast of the PHaraoh from the deck. Your opponent end the turn and you summon beast of the pharaoh, then simply synchro summon multiple times with beast and the avengers into lv7 synchros and then summon back a goblin with beast0s effect and synchro him and the last avenger for a lv8. You can do pretty the same thing with sangan instead of goblin, synchro summon 2 lv6 and a lv7, and add a zombie monster from the deck to the hand, probably to discard it for a brio (lv6).
What's the big problem of this deck? Other than stay handless, the problem is the extra deck, you need to play alot of monsters in there, some lv6, some lv7, some lv8, some lv9 and 5 (i'll explain how to do these, it's kinda particular).
The best thing to avoid having at least 2 lv6 and 2 lv7 is using level eater (searchable either via tomato or sangan). This will need you to add even lv5 and lv9 synchros, by the way it's good enough to be played.
Are you asking why level eater will help the extra deck? other then allowing to use more synchros, it will help taking out some lv6 and 7 you don't need. How can i explain this? Using the combo of beast of the pharaoh you can:
Synchro with beast and an avenger to lv7, then ss back pharaoh and eat a level from the lv7 you summoned to summon eater, synchro into 8 (eater+pharaoh+lv4 avenger), ss back goblin, eat a level from either the lv7 (now 6 and after eating 5) or from the lv8 you just summon to summon level eater, synchro into 9 (goblin+lv4 avenger+eater), go for trishula and add a zombie from your deck to your hand.
Without eater you needed at least 2 lv7 monster, now just 1 is enough, and you can go into stardust and trishula after the lv7 summon.
If you are doing the combo with sangan then it will be pretty the same summoning a lv6, 7 and then 8, add a zombie and discard him for brionac.
This was basically why and how to play level eater.
Another good tech in here is Skill Drain, but it will need a proper and dedicated build for the extra deck.
Pretty all of our monsters effect works when they are in the grave, so they won't be affected from skill drain, EXCEPT for our main card, Infernity Avenger. Avenger works even under skill drain, but he's level changing effect won't work, so when SS back, he will be lv1.
You're thinking then, if i do this, all of our combo won't work, right? That's right, but other plenty of comboes will work. Your build will be based expecially around lv5, lv6, lv9, lv4 and lv2 synchros, other then R1 XYZ.
I don't like this version, however, but it seems good, because it has potential to stop inzektors, wind-up and all monster's effect related deck.
This was probably all, if i come up with something good i'll post it as Chain Link 3.
See Ya on the blog.
